Invisalign vs. Traditional Braces
Invisalign Blends In
Many Invisalign patients are professional adults with busy careers. Others simply don't want noticeable orthodontics. Clear aligners blend in easily, unlike traditional braces.
Invisalign Is Removable
Worried about being able to eat all your favorite hard and crunchy foods? Patients can easily remove Invisalign trays so that there are no limitations to their diet throughout their orthodontic journey.
Invisalign Is Easy to Care For
No need to learn a difficult flossing technique. Invisalign is easy to care for with simple washing, and since it's continually replaced, your aligners will remain fresh.
Invisalign Treatment Is Quicker
Not only is Invisalign more comfortable than braces, but it works much faster too. You can shave six months — or longer — off your orthodontic treatment timeline when you choose Invisalign.

Is Invisalign Covered by Insurance?
In strictly cosmetic cases, Invisalign is not covered by insurance. In others, it may be at least partially covered. We'll work to maximize the benefits of your particular plan.
Our Charlotte office knows how important straight, healthy-looking teeth can be to both your self-esteem and your oral health. That's why we accept low-interest or no-interest CareCredit® financing to spread out any out-of-pocket costs for your orthodontics.
Invisalign Is an Investment That Protects You From Future Costs
When it comes to paying for Invisalign, it is important for patients to understand that treatment not only creates a straighter smile, but can also prevent the need for high-priced care later on.
On a basic level, straighter teeth are much easier to keep clean: there are fewer crevices and hard-to-reach spots where plaque and bacteria can hide.
Maintaining healthy oral hygiene staves off a variety of costly issues. For example, built-up plaque that is difficult to clean on your own can spiral into full-blown tooth decay and gum disease. These conditions may eventually lead to losing one or more of your natural teeth. If this did occur, you would need dental implants to optimally replace your lost teeth. And while implants are an incredible treatment that is offered at Precision Dental Partners, it is always better to keep your natural teeth if possible.
How Does Invisalign Treatment Work At Precision Dental Partners?
Invisalign has been FDA-approved since 2000, and used by over 17 million patients.

Dr. Pirtle Will Schedule Necessary Follow-Up Appointments
Braces appointments are often dreaded, whether it be due to painful tightening of the wires or simply the amount of time spent at them. With Invisalign, you will not need to endure pain or waste massive amounts of time. However, there is a need for periodic follow-up appointments.
Dr. Pirtle will schedule these visits every six weeks throughout your Invisalign journey. At these check-ins, which are typically much quicker than a braces appointment, he will monitor your progress and check your aligner tray fit to make sure everything goes as smoothly as planned.
How Can I Ensure Long-Term Results? With Consistent Retainer Usage
One of the lesser-known benefits of Invisalign is how well it trains you for wearing your retainer. So, when it comes time to switch out your clear aligners for a retainer, you'll already be a pro.
Some types of retainers look and feel very much like Invisalign, with clear trays that go over your teeth. They're also quite a bit easier to use, because you'll only have to put them on at night, as opposed to 20 or more hours a day. A traditional retainer may still be recommended for some cases, including more complex cases or realignment.
Regardless of the type you end up wearing, dentists and orthodontists agree: wearing a retainer is one of the most important steps in Invisalign treatment — and it's the only way you can maintain your results. Otherwise, your teeth may shift over time.

View on GoogleIt Is Never Too Late To Straighten Your Teeth
Far too often, life-changing orthodontics treatments are skipped out on by adults because they are too closely associated with children and teens. You should know that there is absolutely no upper age limit for Invisalign treatment. This means that it is never too late to take charge of your smile.
More and more, adults are choosing Invisalign because it offers a discreet alternative to noticeable, child-like braces. Invisalign allows adults to beautify their smile and elevate their health without calling attention to the fact that they are undergoing any treatment whatsoever.
You should also know that our practice focuses on adult dentistry. We treat our patients with respect and as equals while delivering the most elite treatment possible.
You Do Not Need to See an Orthodontist For Transformative Invisalign Treatment
It is a common misconception that only orthodontists can help patients straighten their teeth. If you are dealing with severe misalignment issues, you may in fact need to see an orthodontist for traditional braces. However, this is usually only necessary in extremely complex cases.
If your problems are more moderate, then Dr. Pirtle can handle every aspect of your Invisalign treatment himself.
It can be a great benefit to receive your Invisalign from the same dentist who would complete any other cosmetic, restorative, or general dentistry procedures for you, as this allows you to build a consistent, trusting patient-dentist relationship without having to shuttle all over Charlotte for care.
Invisalign Discomfort Disappears After Just a Couple of Days
/
You do not need to worry about pain when it comes to Invisalign. At worst, you will experience some discomfort for just the first few days after your trays are fitted. After that, you should experience no pain whatsoever.
